Note: It is unclear if this is a woodblock print, a watercolor
drawing, or a hand-colored keyblock print for an
unpublished design. Sôjûrô VII died on March 2, 1949 at
age 75. Sôjûrô VII also portrayed Osome in a product
of Osome
no Michiyuki (お染の道行) in February 1923 at the Ichimura-za. It

s possible that this work reflects that earlier performance.
