Fukusuke V (中村福助)?] as Oschichi (お七);
[Onoe Kikugorô VI (尾上菊五郎)?] as Naojirô
(直次郎); [Onoe Eizaburô VII (尾上栄三郎;

Ono no Sadakurô (斧定九郎); [Ichikawa
Sadanji II (市川左団次; 市川左團次)?] as
Marubashi Chûya (丸橋忠弥)

Print Date: c. 1920s

Note: This set of uncut prints is not signed but
stylistically resembles prints and paintings made
by Shikô in the 1920s.  See, for example, Shikô's
1924 print of Oschichi.

Onoe Baikô VI (尾上梅幸) as
Otomi (お富)

Play: Yowa Nasake Ukina no Yokogushi
(与話情浮名横櫛)
Performance Place: ?
Performance Date: ?
Print Date: ?
Personal Collection

Note: Baikô VI performed this role in Tokyo
eleven times between July 1906 and February
1938.  The design is similar to a production
photograph from the June 1927 production at
the Teikoku Gekijô.  Based on a companion
print, it is possible that this represents Baikô
VI's performance at the Kabuki-za in
December 1920.

Note: Baikō VI performed this role on several occasions,
including a production at the Teikoku Geikijô in January 1917

XV).  However, I can find no production in Tokyo during the
1920s, the time when Shikô is known to have been actively
designing prints.  It is possible that this print reflects a
regional performance.
