Note: The American Museum of Asian
Art attributes this print to Natori Shunsen,
but the signature on this print does not appear
to be that of Shunsen.  Kichiemon I also
performed this role in Tokyo at the Ichimura-
za in March 1909 and at the Meiji-za in June
1928, as well as at various venues thereafter,
but in size and style it is more like the actor
prints being produced in the late 1910s.
Around this time Kichiemon also portrayed
Banzui Chôbêi in Hanakawado Uwasa no
Naita (花川戸噂の爼板), a version of
Suzu-ga-Mori (鈴ヶ森) at the Ichimura-za
in November 1916, but the costume is more
consistent with a production of Kiwametsuki
Banzui Chôbêi.
