Note: Given that Kanpô was a Kyoto artist and the publisher was based in
Kyoto, the actors depicted in this series likely performed their roles in Kyoto
(or Osaka).   However, because the title references famous actors from the
east (i.e., Tokyo), it is possible that some postcards may depict
contemporaneous performances in Tokyo as well.

Note: Kikugorô VI performed this role at the
Teikoku Gekijô in Tokyo in August 1916.  There
was a production at the Minami-za in Kyoto in
June 1916, but I have not been able to confirm
