Note: Uzaemon XV first played Naojirô in Tokyo at the
Kabuki-za in November 1905. Prior to his 1925 performance,
he also performed this role at the Kabuki-za in April 1910, at
the Kabuki-za in November 1916, and at the Shintomi-za in
December 1919. Depending on the precise publication date
of this print, it is possible that Shunsen modeled this print
after Uzaemon XV's 1916 or 1919 performances.
